"Kamehameha is the interscholastic football champion of 1918.  The great warriors from Kalihi won the title yesterday afternoon on Alexander Field when they sent Punahou down to defeat by a 22-0 score.  The game from the spectator's standpoint was interesting from start to finish.  From a standpoint of straight football, it was not so interesting, for the reason that the officials were far from being hep to the rules and were not strict in the enforcement of what little they did know" (Fennessey).
